The 5 day Value added course held from 7th July to 11th.July at S.A.College of Arts and Science, on ‘Script to Screen ‘ ended on a successful note. The renowned Script Writer & Script coach thiru.Sab John Edathattil gave a complete insight into the art of screenplay writing. This time there was an overwhelming response from other colleges too. The ‘immersion day’ programme held today (02.07.25 ) for our first year viscom students @ S.A.College of Arts and Science ended on a successful note. Thiru Rajesh M Selva, director of films like ‘ Thoongavanam ‘ and ‘ – Kadaram Kondan ‘was our chief guest and he spoke about the importance of developing skills for better opportunities in media industry. About 30 plus parents took part and they asked many questions to the chief guest. On the whole it was a purposeful event…πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
The trailer and the fans meet & greet with Mugeen Rao, the lead of the film ‘ JINN’ ended on a successful note yesterday which was held in our theater @ S.A.College of Arts and science. There were 100 plus social media influencer’s who interacted with the star and the director of the film…πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
The screening of the recently released film ‘LARA’ a gritty suspense thriller, fallowed by an interactive session with the cast and crew of the film with our students of department of visual communication @ S.A.College of Arts and Science was ended a successful note yesterday (08.01.25)…the cast and crew members shared their invaluable experiences to our students in the afternoon session….on the whole it was an enriching experience to one and all …πŸ‘‡

The five days value added programme titled ‘Sound of Misic’ for the Viscom students ended on a successful note today….Mr.Sai Bhaskar, an upcoming tamil film music director dealt threadbare about the nuances of music production..starting from the history to evolution of music , musical instruments, different types of softwares & plug ins used nowadays in music production. He also showed a live demo of dubbing, sound effects ,song composing and background scoring involving students…on the whole it was an enriching experience for one and all…πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

The one day workshop on documentary film making conducted for the visual communication students at S.A. College of Arts & Science ended on a successful note yesterday (18.09.24). Mr.Amshan Kumar the resource person for the workshop dealt with the nuances of documentary film making, the types of documentaries and the do’s and don’ts during the production, accompanied by clippings from the best documentaries around the world. College of Arts & Science ended on a successful note today..Thiru.M.Sivakumar, film maker with his impeccable knowledge on world cinema had opened the eyes of our students to how to appreciate and understand the language of cinema. The two days workshop on photography held at S.A. College of Arts & Science , for the visual communication students on 8th & 9th August, ended on a successful note…Mr.Saran, the official photographer of TLC channel , explained about the basics of photography , the usage of different types of lenses, cameras, aperture, shutter etc on day one and on day two a live model was used to explain practically how all the elements explained on day one should be applied. On the whole it was a learning exercise for one and all. This time we had 22 participants from other colleges….πŸ‘‡

Advance Diploma Program

As India creates history today, being the first country in the world to land on the south side of the moon , we at Madras Christian college, school of continuing education, school of film technology have kept its first step by launching its first batch(2023-24) of ‘one year advanced Diploma in film technology’ today @ the preview theater, centre for media studies. On this occasion i thank the Principal, Vice Principal, Director,SCE and hod viscom for their whole hearted support in starting this course. I wish the first batch students all the very best in their chosen field of study..πŸ™πŸ‘.
The Cinematography department students of our Film Tech course, SCE, MCC had a outdoor shooting practicals today ( 26.09.23) …… Mr.Kaviarasan , faculty of Cinematography department indulged the students in practical exposure to camera handling, lighting control and composition practices…on the whole it was a fruitful excercise to one and all..
Today Editing theory class has been handled by mrs Sivamathi, who is a film graduate from Adyar Film institute.Today she explained about film as a language and the structure of film. In the end of the session students asked some questions and she clearly answered all the questions raised by students.
School of film technology, Madras Christian college Conducted camera practicals to the students students . All students shown interest to operate the camera Individually. After that one student wanted shot his Quikie project. Santhosh from Direction department and kumaran from camera department did their projects. Then Dharshan from Direction department did his mise en shot (single shot narration) practical. Then another two students did their rehearshal their Shoot next week.
This year film festival gives variety of outstanding films. Students saw the films titled Close your eyes Dignity Family album Life And today students attended A master class on acting by Famous star actor vijay sethupathi and the session is totally interesting and educative.

Our students of film technology attended 54th international Film Festival of India 2023.we reached Goa 20.11.2023 and participated in the screening of inagural film Catching dust directed by Stuart Gatt.

Iam happy to share with u all that , as a Director of my company β€˜One Shop Media Solutions β€˜ i have officially signed the MoU with Dr.Paul Willson, Principal, Madras Christian College , yesterday ( 30.11.2023 ) . Under our company in association with Center for Media studies & School of continuing education we are offering a one year advanced Diploma in film technology, under six categories…the classes for the current batch of 2023 are going on….i would have never imagined in my wildest dreams when i did my DFA course at the same dpt of continuing education way back in 1990-91 β€˜ that one day i will be signing an MoU with my Alma mater to start film tech course at the same place i studied…nostalgic…at this juncture i thank the Principal,Mcc,Director, sce, Vice Principal, Hod, Viscom and all others for making this happenβ€¦πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ™

Mr.Barani , sound engineer who is working in Vijay tv and Mr.Senthil, working as a faculty in the department of visual communication, mcc and who is a specialist in graphics & animation delivered lectures on their chosen field

End of 1st semester practical and theory examinations were conducted for our” one advanced diploma in film technology” students. External examiners from film fraternity, television industry and academia were invited to evaluate our students works and to award marks….πŸ‘‡
